TalisTalis

Faewyn Talis, our main character. Hard-working, practical and short-tempered. She begins our story working as a lightkeeper for the giant gas lanterns that light the planet. The quiet life doesn't last long, though, and an unexpected attack by alien invaders propels her forward on a path to adventure.

MaisyMaisy

Pronunciation: MAY-zee
Gender: Female
Division: Cutter
Age: 62
First Appearance: Page 17
Maisy was the matronly head keeper of Glow Island SR43 before the Yu'Nyun attacked, killing her and destroying the Glow vine. She and Talis pretty much ran things on their own, tending to the glow and maintaining all the equipment on a shoestring budget. After her death, Talis enlisted with the naval ship that rescued her, glad to be free of the island and ready to find some Yu'Nyun and make them pay for Maisy's death.

Serung was the first friendly face Talis met aboard the naval ship The Bristol. She took Talis under her wing, and tried to offload the worst of her galley duties onto her. She would much rather work in engineering but can't seem to get a break.

An officer aboard The Bristol when Talis enlisted, he rescued Talis from Serung's potato closet and put her on the lift deck as soon as he realized her potential.

Rivers

Serit Rivers is one of very few Vein officers in the Naval service. Despite her people's inherent blindness, she oversees the lift deck on The Bristol, where Talis was assigned to work.
