This page gave me a very hard time, days to get from my mind onto paper. In contrast, this Thursday's page took about 20 minutes to draw. Such is the life of an artist!
PAGE 13 (5 Panels)
Panel 1. Talis, all grown, is grumbling to herself as she works on a torn section of canvas. She is wearing a harness and seated on a swing seat with a pulley built in for going up and down. This first panel is close in on her face, showing the goggles she wears to shield the bright glow from a source we can't see yet.
TALIS (caption): Sure. Amazing.
Panel 2. Talis dips a paintbrush in a bucket tethered to her swing, filled with a semi-clear green liquid glue used for adhering patches to the canvas.
Panel 3. Talis's brush spreads the glue while her left hand holds a patch ready to place.
Panel 4. Talis stitches the patch for extra hold. Where the needle pierces the layers of canvas, a bright light sneaks through, reflecting off the metal.
Panel 5. Full shot of Talis as she bites through the cord to finish up the patch. She is completely at ease in the swing seat, despite any hint of ground below her. Additional patches can be seen beyond the one she just added.
TALIS (caption): Uh huh.
