Panel 1. A close-up of one alchemist shaping figures from water droplets. He is apparently blind, with fine woven wraps covering his eyes. Four arms, a longer pair and a shorter more dexterous pair, manipulate the water he channels into a small figure floating before him. Each of his hands, and the hands of his creation, has two fingers and a thumb. Beyond the swirling water, pulled from the fragments of the destroyed planet, stars twinkle and dark pieces of rock silently observe.MOM (storytime): So Lindent Vein created a race of people, drawing their essence from water droplets. The Vein people are beautiful and graceful, intelligent and gifted in the arts. Like their creator, they are blind, with extra arms to give them tactile sight.
